In the summer of 2012, the Prado will be presenting the exhibition Portrait of Spain. Masterpieces from the Prado at the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane (Australia). This is the first exhibition to be held by the Museum in Australia and falls within its “International Prado” programme sponsored by Acciona. A selection of around one hundred works from the Museum will offer visitors an analysis of the remarkable evolution of painting in Spain over the course of more than three centuries and of the international and external factors that influenced it.
