The restoration of the ceiling was carried out in two phases between 2000 and 2006. The first phase consisted of a superficial cleaning and consolidation and the second involved removing old repainting and old restoration. The project was led by Bárbara Hasbach and Juan Aguilar under the supervision of the Instituto del Patrimonio Histórico Español (IPHE) and the Museo del Prado.
