Joseph Explaining Dreams in Prison (?) / Portrait of a Young Man

XVIII century. Grey-brown wash, White chalk, Black chalk on grey paper.
Not on display

This drawing depicts a young man in a domed interior. He raises his left arm, as if in the act of speaking, before two older men; one is standing and the other seated, both making gestures of astonishment. Another man is barely visible in the background. Above, Time with his scythe and hourglass is amongst clouds.

On the verso is a portrait of a young man with a hairstyle dating from the time of Charles III, King of Spain.
