The Virgin of Mount Carmel
XVIII century. Wash, Pencil on laid paper. Not on display
This is a paper formerly folded in two parts, incorporating the drawing D000650, since they were both two ideas for the same print. The Virgin appears in more than half-length, facing forwards with her left hand on her breast and raising her scapular with her right hand. There are cherub heads around her. The drawing is made with pen and brown wash. Its companion, The Virgin of Mercy (D000650), is made in black pencil. Both have a watermark of a flower vase and are cut, forming part of the same number in the Inventory of the Fernández Durán Bequest, F.D. 1102.
