Small ornaments in the form of faces or animals were typical products of the period. These little boxes were used to hold beauty spots, snuff, mint sweets or pills to disguise bad breath, and so were known by the generic name of bonbonnières (Snuffbox).

Esta pieza es una cajita o estuche en figura de cabeza de mono, sonriente, con los labios rojizos y los dientes también dibujados en rojo, lo mismo que el hocico rosado; el pelo castaño, hecho con plumeado muy fino, y los ojos son dos granates engastados. Lleva montura de metal dorado con una anilla para colgar, en la parte superior y por tapa un ónice. Cajitas del mismo tipo se hicieron en metal
