The sculpture was executed between the late Hadrianic period (Hadrian died in 138 AD) and the early Antonine period (140-150 AD). The technique of the curls recalls works from the late Hadrianic period, while the narrow eyes with thick eyelids and the slightly elongated proportions of the face and body point to the early Antonine period.

This dating is also suggested by the intense polish that creates the smooth flesh. This surface indicates that the statue was not re-touched after the antique period, as various specialists such as Kolihenbom have affirmed.
