Drawing from the Ajello notebook, Madrid, Museo del Prado. Prior drawing for the first catalogue of the Isabel de Farnesio collection that was never published.

In 1692 the collection was acquired by Livio Odescalchi, whose heir sold it to the Spanish monarchs Philip V and Isabella Farnese in 1724. The Diadumenos thus entered the Spanish royal collections.
