- Donación Fernando de Aragón y Carrillo de Albornoz, marqués de Casa Torres, 1975
A high-quality, fresh and immediate image of the head of a buck. Its naturalism has led it to be called a “portrait.” This work may have been painted to decorate one of the Royal Seats. Its subject matter is related to hunting and would seem to indicate that it may have been part of a collection of paintings for the hunting pavilion known as the Torre de la Parada.
This work was acquired in 1920 by Fernando de Aragón y Carrillo de Albornoz, Marquis of Casa Torres, who donated it to the Prado Museum.
