hand, which also holds a
handkerchief. In the background,
other majos comprise what is
clearly a scene of gallantry that
contrasts with the meditative or
reflexive attitude of the young
woman, whose handkerchief seems to
indicate lovesickness.
This cartoon was for one of the
tapestries in the El Pardo Palace.
Its format indicates that it hung
above a door.
