The only ancient part of this sculpture is the torso bearing the anatomical armor adorned with the head of a protective Gorgon and a trophy with two Victories, dating from around 100 A.D. The head is from the seventeenth-century and is based on a portrait from the period of Trajan (98-117 A.D.). The lower part of the footwear, which is also modern, faithfully reproduces prototypes from the same period.
