This reproduction was by one of the finest etchers of the latter third of the 19th century. Its fidelity to the original (also on display in this room) is evident in details such as the placing of the shadows and the precise rendering of objects. As indicated by the numbering in the top right-hand corner, it belongs to a series of reproductions of contemporary paintings.
