A saint is depicted with a short cloak and a staff, seated at the foot of a tree to the right of the composition. He stands before a crowd seated on the ground in a wide space around him. They are listening to him with expressions of adoration and full attention. The background is of a landscape.
It is a work made in Madrid at the end of the 17th century. It is heavily influenced by Luca Giordano, from whom various figures and poses are exactly taken.
