Apparition of the Virgin to a Dominican Saint
XVII century. Grey-brown wash, Pencil on laid paper. Not on display
The saint, kneeling with his head and left hand on his chest, gazes at the Virgin. She is depicted seated with the Christ Child on her knees, on an altar, and surrounded by child angels and a group of adolescent angels playing a harp and trumpets.
The style is closely related to that of Cano, but this attribution does not appear to be acceptable.
