View of the monastery of San Juan de los Reyes in Toledo (Spain), prior to its restoration. Although its restoration had been agreed in 1881 as part of the construction of a building for the School of Arts and Artistic Industries, for which a Board of Restoration Works was set up in 1882, work on the cloister did not begin until 1887. This work by Arredondo might date from 1884 or 1885, since the following elements are depicted in the style of Fortuny: the garden, the carpentry enclosures in some of the windows of the upper cloister, and the ruins affecting the cloister elements.
