This fragment -the support is cut on all four sides- is perhaps inspired by an engraving of Van Honthorst`s original The Denial of Saint Peter in Minneapolis, dated about 1620-25 (Posada Kubissa, T.: Pintura holandesa en el Museo Nacional del Prado. Catálogo razonado, 2009, p. 304).
