Head of a Young Boy

XVII century. Red chalk on laid paper.
Not on display

This drawing depicts the head of a young boy looking with narrowed eyes three-quarters to the left. It is a very lively and expressive work. Most likely, it was executed by an artist from Claudio Coello’s circle and is reminiscent of the head studies for the painting of the Holy Eucharist at El Escorial
