Head of a youth
XVI century. Red chalk on yellow paper. Not on display
If Emilian, this study would appear to belong to the last quarter of the sixteenth century, that is, during the period of activity of the Carracci, but the softness in the application of the chalk and the unusual darkness of the eyes might suggest a Florentine hand, perhaps an artist close to Baldassare Franceschini, called ´Volterrano´ (1611-1689).
