Head of an Old Man
Mid-XVIIcentury. Black chalk, Red chalk on laid paper. Not on display
This drawing is a study for the head of an old man, turned slightly more than in profile towards the left and foreshortened. The attribution to Castillo is difficult to acknowledge, since it strongly differs from the technique ascribed to the artist. Sánchez Cantón attributed it to the Madrid school from the mid-17th century.
