Hercules slaying the centaur Eurytion
XVI century. Pencil, Pencil ground, Grey-brown ink on paper. Not on display
A superior version, in the hand of Cambiaso himself, is in a private collection. Another version of the drawing is in the National Gallery, Oslo (inv. no. B15043). The private collection, Prado and Oslo drawings perhaps reflect the composition of one of the chiaroscuro frescoes of The Labors of Hercules, now lost, formerly the palace of Sinibaldo Doria, Genoa. The Suidas describe the drawing as from Cambiaso´s second style.
