Jupiter and a woman standing before him
Late XVI century. Wash, Grey-brown wash, Grey-brown ink on yellow paper. Not on display
Although the drawing is certainly not by him, the style is indeed much indebted to Perino del Vaga ´s Genoese period and is reminiscent of G. B. Castello, ´Il Bergamasco´ (c. 1509-1569), and other of his Genoese followers.
Jupiter appears seated on a cloud, with a female figure in front of him, pointing to a triangle lying at his feet, while a sicle and quiver of arrows are cast down beside her.
