Nude infant reclining
First half of the XVI century. Pencil, Grey-brown ink on cream paper. Not on display
The traditional attribution is to the Venetian Domenico Campagnola (1500-1564). Although the cross hatching does indeed suggest some of Campagnola´s finely wrought pen drawings, the style seems closer to that of Parmigianino himself, and David Ekserdjian has kindly suggested the drawing may be by one of the artist´s followers. Indeed there are some points of similarity with the drawings of Jacobo Bertoia (1544-1573/4).
