Portrait of a Lady
Ca. 1810.Not on display
Dun´s miniatures have a simple composition, with the model placed almost in a frontal position and the head very high, leaving little space, reducing the background to a minimum. The painter did not stop at the details because, by using the short-bust portrait, the visible part of the clothing was minimal. The carnations were made with a very fine stippling, with a lot of vermilion and little blue for the shadows. In the backgrounds he used light tones where blues, greens and yellows predominate, as can be seen in this portrait.
