Saint Catherine
XVI century. Grey-brown wash, Pencil on yellow paper. Not on display
Drawing depicting the half-kneeling saint in the foreground. A child angel flies towards her with the crown and the palm leaf. The foreground depicts the remains of a wheel and a cutlass; the background, a landscape with children. Markedly Italian in nature, it is probably not a Spanish work. However, if that were to be the case, it is probably a copy of or inspired by prints from northern Italy.
