Saint Vincent Martyr
Mid-XVIIcentury. Pencil on laid paper. Not on display
Saint Vincent is depicted standing, wearing a dalmatic and leaning with his arms on a millstone. He makes a gesture with his right hand as if making an argument and holds the palm branch of martyrdom with his left.
It seems to be for an angled sculpture on a pedestal.
This drawing depicts traditional Valencian iconography from the 16th century (Juan de Juanes, Borrás). It is undoubtedly a Valencian work from the middle of the 17th century.
