Self-Portrait
1907. Oil on canvas. Not on display
There are few known self-portraits by this Sevillian artist who followed academic tradition but was interested in sketching from life, as can be observed in his paintings of social themes. Unlike the portrait kept in the Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla in which he is depicted as a successful bourgeois, in this picture he is unmistakably represented an artist standing before a canvas on an easel.
