Study of a Nude Child / Copy of Ribera’s Immaculate Conception
XVIII century. White chalk, Black chalk on grey paper. Not on display
This is a study of a nude child sitting on a support, leaning on his right hand and raising his left hand. He is depicted almost from the front. It seems to be a copy of the plaster model used in drawing D1988.
On the verso is a copy of Ribera’s Immaculate Conception, which used to be in the convent of San Pascual in Madrid and was frequently copied in the 17th and 18th centuries.
