The Annunciation
Third quarter of the XVII century. Watercolour, Pencil, Grey-brown wash, Pencil ground on laid paper. Not on display
The scene depicts the Virgin kneeling on a prayer stool, on which a prayer book rests. To the right of the composition, the archangel Saint Gabriel kneels before her and announces the mystery of the Incarnation.
It is very similar in style to that of Cajés and his pupils. Since there is no record of other graphic work by Francisco Palacios, making stylistic comparison unfeasible, there is no possibility of accepting or rejecting this attribution with certainty.
