The Conversion of Saint Paul
XVI century. Wash, Grey-brown ink, Pencil, Pencil ground on yellow paper. Not on display
Versions of this composition, mostly from Cambiaso´s studio, are found in several vollections, including the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, the University of Texas, Austin; the Uffizi, Florence; the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Brunswick, Maine; and the Weisgall Collection.
In the Prado drawing, there are many incompetent passages that show a feeble hand at work, for example the horse and rider leaping towards the center of the composition and the landscape background on the right.
