Apparently Walter Vitzthum suggested the present, convincing attribution to Filippo Bellini. It seems indeed a characteristic work, if one compares it with the many drawings reproduced in Monbeig Goguel´s fundamental article on the artist´s activity as a draftsman (1975, pp. 347-370).
