The Eternal Father, Cherubim and Angels
Mid-XVIIcentury. Black chalk, Red chalk on dark yellow paper. Not on display
In the upper part, God the Father is depicted half-length, holding the globe, in a gesture of blessing. Cherubim and seraphim, as well as some heads of cherubim, surround him.
It is probably a study for the upper part of a painting on the Annunciation. It is a work from Madrid that dates from the middle of the century. The attribution to Coello is not plausible.
