1810 - 1850. Etching on wove paper.Not on display
Under the stage name Pellegrino Blanes (1774 – 1823), this Florentine performer was very successful in tragic roles such as Bruto or Cincinnato thanks to his warm, strong voice and his forcefully dramatic performances that brought him renown. Belli directed the Compagnia Reale di Milano and subsequently founded a company of his own. In this picture he is portrayed in Roman style, after a drawing by Neoclassical artist Francesco Nenci.
