This is an allegorical female figure in a flying pose. She holds a palm branch in her right hand and a laurel wreath in her left. It is a preparatory drawing for the corresponding figure in the upper part of the central register of the fresco The Surrender of Granada in the old Gala Dining Room in the Royal Palace of Madrid. There is a preparatory sketch for the composition that belongs to the Museo del Prado (P002483). It has been on loan in the Palace of Charles V in Granada since 1971. Furthermore, there is another preparatory sketch in a private collection. For more on the identification of the allegorical figures in all the palace frescoes, see: F. J.
