See author's fileThis is a landscape study characterised by the vastness and horizontality of the setting, in which the painter has given great prominence to the sky. In a lower plane and in the centre of the composition, a shepherd tending his flock of sheep grazing in the meadow can be seen; a story that is minimised by the importance of the Castilian landscape, treated increasingly authentically, soberly and concisely, that was to encourage the literary Generation of ´98.
