Elena Brockman y Llanos
Madrid (Spain), 10.2.1865 - Madrid, 26.1.1946Elena Brockmann de Llanos was a Spanish painter who specialized in costumbrismo (depictions of everyday life and customs). She began her training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. She frequently participated in competitions and exhibitions, and in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts in Spain, she was awarded an honorable mention in 1857 and a third medal in the 1892 edition for the canvas owned by the Prado Museum (Balbás Ibáñez, S., Encyclopedia of the Friends of the Prado Museum Foundation, 2006, Vol. II, p. 561).
She was the daughter of Leopoldo Brockmann González-Losada and Isabel Beatriz de Llanos Keast, and the granddaughter of the writer Valentín María de Llanos Gutiérrez.
