Philippe-Samuel Meylan
Le Brassus, Vaud (Switzerland), 1770 - Geneva (Switzerland), 1845Swiss watchmaker who mastered all kinds of precision mechanical creations, especially clockwork mechanisms and automatons. Between 1811 and 1828 he was associated with Isaac Daniel Piguet, creating the firm Piguet & Meylan in Geneva. The firm became famous especially for the creation of "Chinese mounts", watch cases made mostly of gold, enamels and pearl strings, destined for export to China.
