I left on 31 December 2009. I chose the date. I went to the Ministry. The official record of 2009 includes a short text on this. I always say they kicked me out because the employment agreement of that time stated that I had to retire at 65. I wanted to carry on working and I couldn’t at the Museum; so I had to go somewhere else in order to continue.
I miss the people. I still dream about the Museum, would you believe it. I miss the people and the activity; I mean, not knowing what you’re going to find the next day. You left home and said to yourself: “Let’s see what today brings, where we’ll end up, what’s going to happen.” I miss that tension, that activity. A lot.
He worked at the Museo del Prado as Head of the Area of Works and Maintenance from 1994 to 2009. He works as an architect, participating in major projects such as the remodelling of the roof, the Museum's extension or the re-model and enlarge of the Casón del Buen Retiro.
