Nuria de Miguel Poch, General Secretary of the Friends of the Museo del Prado Foundation, 1989-What's on
Working at the Prado Museum is a great opportunity, a great privilege. Work is always work, there is an administrative part, parts that are boring, parts that are stressing; but of course it's not the same working in a production line than at the Prado Museum. To begin with, working in the field of culture allows you to add to yourself, overcoming and learning, it's truly a privilege. Aside from that, there are times when you can walk into the Museum and see everything, and that makes up for a day of stress. And you are surrounded by people, you get the opportunity to work side by side with people who stand out in moral, professional, cultural and academic terms. All that makes you better.
I'm very proud of the team I've been able to build. We started out as three and now we are 21. To this we must add the volunteers, the interns, students here on practice. I think this is what makes me proudest. If I were to leave right now, it wouldn't matter. I'm not trying to be modest. Quite the contrary, I can say it proudly because I have built up a team that can run on its own, it will work. That's what I'll be missing, of course, the people here.
Member of the Friends of the Museo del Prado Foundation, and appointed General Secretary of said organization in 1993, acting as a link between the Board of Trustees and the Museum.
