There is no doubt that superheroes have captured (and colonised) the audiovisual world in the 21st century. Batman, Spiderman, Iron-Man and numerous other characters have been the stars of a huge number of films and series. However, the same was the case in much more traditional media in the Middle Ages with heroes who to some extent prefigure our present-day ones
