How Rubens painted explained in a minute.

"Mercury and Argos" is part of a series of more than 60 paintings that the King of Spain commissioned in 1636 for the Torre de la Parada. The painter catered to commissions of this size with a working system that involved the extensive collaboration of his studio.

This is a trailer of the video made for the exhibition "Rubens's Workshop" (15/10/2024 - 16/02/2025), which recreates the process of painting the picture and explores how Rubens made use of his assistants in the various phases.
