New installation of 15th- and 16th-century Flemish and Hispano-Flemish painting

The new installation of 15th- and 16th-century Flemish painting emphasises its principal exponents and Bosch is now the subject of a monographic gallery (Room 56A), with another (Room 55A) devoted to Joachim Patinir and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This new installation also places more emphasis on the Museum’s magnificent but until now under-appreciated collection of Flemish painting from the second half of the 16th century, led by Anthonis Mor (Room 56).

These galleries are equipped with a modern LED lighting system recently installed in a new phase of the Museum’s overall project Lighting the Prado, sponsored by Fundación Iberdrola.
