On the occasion of the exhibition "Only My Strength of Will Remains", which opens on the day the Museo Nacional del Prado celebrates its 200th anniversary until February 16th 2020, Chief Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Museo Nacional del Prado, and Manuela Mena comment the "Tauromaquia" series by Francisco de Goya.

The third of Goya's print series is the "Tauromaquia", which went on sale in 1816 but proved a resounding comercial failure. No one was interested in purchasing works of undoubted beauty and formal and technical complexity but also of terrible violence.
