The Female Perspective: Isabel Clara Eugenia
The Prado Museum’s attentive visitor will find the persistent presence of a woman in its galleries: Isabel Clara Eugenia. The visitor can admire the superb portraits by Sánchez Coello, Pantoja de la Cruz, and Rubens, along with dozens of works resulting from her powerful patronage.
The Prado Museum treasures the stories of great women who were leading historical figures in the patronage of the arts. The documentary series The Female Perspective introduces us to these queens, princesses, regents, and governors who made significant contributions to the creation and consolidation of the museum, as well as the enrichment of the collections that we are fortunate to admire today.
