The Mark of Isabel Farnese on the Museo del Prado
After highlighting the decisive contribution of women from the European royal houses of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Museo Nacional del Prado now offers, until 26 May, a new approach to its collection with the third edition of the itinerary “The Female Perspective”, organised in collaboration with the Instituto de las Mujeres and with the support of Iryo. On this occasion, the focus shifts to the eighteenth century in order to explore the legacy of the artistic patron who contributed most significantly to the enrichment of the former Royal Collection and, consequently, of the present‑day Museum: Queen Isabel Farnese (1692–1766).
