Through the gigapixel digitization project financed with funding from the “Recovery, Transformation and Resilience in Spain Plan”, the Museo del Prado is offering the virtual guided tour of its collection and 10 thematic tours free of charge.
This is the most ambitious gigapixel digitilization project undertaken to date in a museum, resulting in exceptionally high image quality that gives users the sensation of being immersed in the space, and a super-zoom level which allows for an appreciation of the smallest details.
The virtual tour and its different experiences consist of almost 4 million files which include the more than 26,600 high-resolution photographs taken to create the final images.
