In the foreground, a large body of water bordered by one of its banks, where the structure of a jetty can be seen in front of a wooded area. Here a gate opens onto an enclosure of domestic buildings with a flagpole in front of them. Along the banks of the canal, several steamships are moored and there is a barge on the jetty. The sky is very cloudy
