A waterwheel (Majorca)
Ca. 1877. Oil on panel. Not on display
On the right, behind some bushes, stands the rustic construction of a waterwheel crowned by the mechanical wooden formwork. Behind, the twisted trunk of a tree stands out against the rural house in the background. To the left, more trees against a mountainous background. There is a cloudy, late afternoon sky in which the faint, glowing lights of a recent sunset can be glimpsed.
