Borrás Abellá presents the reaction to a just court ruling in a work awarded a second medal at the 1897 exhibition. By the end of the century, 19th-century realism had reached its culmination and its tenets crystallised. There, it reproduced itself in pure anecdote. Borrás´s personality is still little known, but the painter was undoubtedly immersed in that concern and attention to the social questions which dominated the final decade of the 19th century.
