On a hillside to the left, a grove of trees fades into the valley’s distance, while on a slope to the right, a cut tree trunk lies before two large trees rise from among bushes and shrubs to become the main elements of the composition, caught in a shaft of light and standing out against white clouds. Looming in the background, a large mountain dominates the view of a mountain range fading into the distance against the brightness of the sky.
