This drawing, quite possibly from a sketchbook, reveals the ease with which this artist from Madrid freely sketched figures. The satirical nature of the image, which forms a sharp contrast with the rest of his particularly refined graphic oeuvre, is obvious in the depiction of the figure’s hands, feet and facial features, markedly the nose and the moustache.
