Cavalry Battle
XVII century. Pencil on laid paper. Not on display
To the right, a group of horses is depicted on the ground while their armoured riders fight with swords. To the left, a horse gets up above its fallen rider. The nervous, broken, and vibrant technique, full of errors and blunders, is akin to other drawings by the artist’s hand in the Museo de Bellas Artes in Valencia.
